Getting together with old friends

Candy and Ryan were a couple of our first friends when we moved to Fernley. A few months ago they moved back to BYU with there three kids to do the MBA program and Trevor interviewed and got Ryan's job at Hydotech...kinda a long story. Anyway they came back to visit family over the holidays and we were lucky enough to get to hang out with a big group of friends while they were here. The little girls had a blast dressing up like princesses and the adults had a good time socializing. We are hoping when our friends finish school they will move back...I doubt it though.

Our Family Christmas Pictures

The Sunday before Christmas Trevor wanted to take pics...I wasn't really feeling it! Then I talked to my sister Jonnette and she said that was one of her regrets was not taking more pictures with her kids when she wasn't feeling attractive! I have to say I was NOT feeling attractive that day but I am glad we got the pictures. I love that Alexia is starting to smile and laugh for the camera.

Christmas Lunch with the Card Family

We decided to celebrate Christmas and December Birthdays together on the Saturday before Christmas. Melanie and Reed (Trevor's Parents) took us all out to Mongolian BBQ buffet and then we went to Costco and Old Navy Shopping. The food was great and Felicity had a blast hanging out with her grandparents and Teeara and Tyrell. I loved the picture of the girls sitting in the Old Navy cart together. The little outfit Alexia is in is Felicity's little outfit from Treena for her first Christmas.

Breakfast with Santa

This year I was in charge of Breakfast with Santa in our ward. I was a bit of a procrastinator and couldn't find anyone to be Santa's Helper! Finally Trevor said he would be my little helper. Felicity was so excited to have Santa(ie Trevor)come to our church. The night before she started crying because she wanted to see Santa now not tomorrow! Santa was so fun to see and all the kids LOVED him. Felicity asked Santa for Pet Shops. After Santa came Felicity asked where the reindeer were. Later that day Trevor and Felicity were in her room when I heard her say..."Daddy, Santa has the same glasses as you (Pause) but they were a little darker." Thank goodness for transition glasses! We had a great time and Santa was awesome!

Snow Days

The other day we had a fun snow storm so Felicity decided to go outside and play in it. Felicity LOVES to play in the snow but Mommy isn't the biggest fan of it! Felicity went outside and I ran to my room to grab the camera. I came around the corner and looked out the sliding window. I saw Felicity knocking on the door yelling for me to let her in. She had this total look of terror on her face so I ran to the door and opened it for her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two huskies running straight for Felicity! I grabbed her and pulled her inside and then they ran right up to the sliding glass window. I was about as freaked out about the dogs as Felicity was. The rest of the day when Felicity went out to play in the snow I didn't take my eyes off of her. The huskies came back into our yard about four times that day...Where were the owners HUH? At least there were no dog bites!

Bath time

Felicity has started wanting to take baths with Alexia. Since Alexia is too small for normal bath we put her bath in the tub and they take a bath together. Felicity likes to climb in Alexia's bath with her. It is a pretty tight squeeze but they love it!

Making our Gingerbread house

Gingerbread house making has been a long Adamson tradition that I am so excited to start with our little family. Eileen came to visit last year and made a house with Felicity and she loved it. This year I had planned on making two houses one for Felicity and one for me. After we finished Felicity's I was DONE! We kept having problems with the frosting and the frosting tip kept coming out of the bag, Trevor and Felicity did Most of the candy and I was the froster. Alexia was sleeping most of the night, which is pretty much the norm for our little family. We all enjoyed about the same amount of candy that we put on the house. The next morning Felicity was already pulling candy off the house, My first instinct was to scold her and tell her we don't eat the candy on the house it is just supposed to be pretty. But, what is the use of having a candy house if you don't get to enjoy the candy. I just let her enjoy the treats we decorated with and thought...Hey that will probably be one of her favorite things about Christmas, sneeking treats off of her gingerbread house. Why ruin that for her?

The Card Christmas Tree 2008

Now that we have enjoyed a fresh cut Christmas tree this year I don't think we will be able to go back to the fake one. We just loved the smells of Christmas and it was Felicity's favorite thing to plug in the tree every night. Hopefully some day someone in this area will start a tree farms so we can go cut a tree down...maybe when the kids are older.

A fun play date

We went bowling with a group of friends at the Fernley Fun Center. I didn't think Felicity would like it, but with the little metal contraption you see in the pictures she LOVED it. Cylee came up with the idea and it was lots of fun. We all need to do fun things like this more often!

Trevor's Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Trevor's 33rd birthday. We all went to lunch at one of his favorite Fernley Mexican restaurants. Felicity and I made dinner and then we topped the night off with an ice cream cake from Steve's Homemade ice cream shop. Felicity made her daddy a card and after we put Felicity and Alexia to bed we finished up the night, watching the Office and CSI. Not too exciting but a very enjoyable day for all of us. We don't get to see much of Trevor at night so it was nice to spend the time together as a family!

Alexia

Alexia, our little flower girl!

Whenever Alexia gets startled she will jump and put her hands up like this. The funny thing is even when she is sleeping she will leave her hands up for quite a while...stuck in this position.

My Treadmill

I finally got Trevor to agree to put the treadmill in the livingroom. Yes it is ugly there but it is the only way I will get exercise. The gym in Fernley I used to go to got shut down so there is NO gym in fernley with day care. I guess that means I will have to exercise at home which has been quite a challenge with my little girls!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Felicity decorating the tree..she had a blast!

The happy tree decorators. Alexia was asleep so she couldn't help.

We let Felicity hang all the bulbs and she liked to put them one right next to the other. After she went to bed I spread them all over the tree.

Trevor and Felicity decorating her little tree. She decided she wanted it on the kitchen table so it works great as our centerpiece.

We had such a fun time decorating the Christmas tree. I decided to change my color scheme for my tree this year red white and silver and I love it. I love the real tree also. The biggest challenge has been to remember the water for it every day. I can't believe how much water that tree uses each day..no wonder there are no tree farms in Nevada, we have very little water here.

Getting ready for Christmas

Felicity's Christmas Tree

Felicity and Alexia ruffing it in the cold...well not really it's been in the 50's for the entire week.

Alexia helping decorate. She was there for moral support.

Felicity setting up Santa's village.

Trevor helped a little!

We had such a fun day pulling out our Christmas decorations. Felicity and Trevor put up Santa's village and we went out to dinner at KFC and them ran to Lowe's to get our REAL Christmas tree. Felicity decided she needed her own little Christmas tree to decorate. The last few years Trevor and I have been lazy using a fake tree. I have to say it smells so good in the house with a fresh tree. By the time we got home from Lowe's Felicity was fast asleep so we are going to decorate the trees tomorrow.

More pics of Christmas Tree

Just a few more pictures of us getting our Christmas Tree.
